Two Reasons...I Know What Seniors Want in an Attraction

One: I am one!

Born in 1942, I lived my teenage years from 1955 to 1962, followed by the “what’s next?” phase from 1961 to 1965. Then came the U.S. Air Force (1966–1970), building a career and family (1971–2002), and finally, designing and constructing Simple Pleasures—a 21-acre senior-themed attraction (2002–2025).

Two, I’ve entertained busloads of seniors.

For 13 years, Elaine, my wife and I have entertained, fed and shared stories with hundreds and hundreds of group tour seniors.

Now at 82, my history mirrors that of so many others. That’s the point. Elaine and I created Simple Pleasures as a “hard copy” of our memories. Sure, the details and years vary from one senior to another, but our experiences are the same.  Whether you grew up in California, North Carolina, or Kansas City (like me), we all had drive-in movies as our make-out spots.  Howdy Doody, Annette, and Barbie are still as vivid as the wind whipping through the open windows of Mom’s station wagon. White T-shirts, faded blue jeans and poodle skirts were the uniform of our youth.  We inhaled burning rubber as the raw power of an SS 409 or a Hemi ’Cuda twisted tires on asphalt.

Simple Pleasures brings these shared experiences to life. When tour buses arrive, we’re strangers. By the time the goodbye goodie bags are handed out, we’re pals—kindred spirits brought together by luck, laughter, and decades of common memories.

We know Seniors love-love-love ice cream, fun, tasty food, history, comfort, and unique experiences.   Yep, I know seniors like in the attractions they visit..

Call me we’ll talk it up!
